I am descended from Nancy Ward, Beloved Woman of the Cherokee. My ancestors walked the Trail of Tears, and fought the battles.

My 3rd Great Grandfather, Lt. Col. Robert C. Parks served in the Cherokee Mounted Volunteers under Gen. Stand Watie and Gen.'s Cooper and Price.
He was killed in the Civil War near Ft. Washita, IT.
